Highly Sprung provides a range of projects and bespoke workshops annually that offer children and young people opportunities to engage with the company in physical performance. In all projects Highly Sprung aim to empower children and young people with the skills to achieve.
Founded in 1999, the company already has a strong reputation in the delivery of inspiring arts projects and performances and has developed good relationships with both primary and secondary schools across the Midlands as a provider of high quality arts interventions, performances, residencies and collaborations.
The company currently works with over 7,000 children and young people annually.
Highly Sprung has worked extensively as part of the Creative Partnerships programme, delivering 18 projects as part of the government funded Creative Partnership project, in five districts over three years. The company was involved in piloting many of the pioneering approaches to documenting and developing creative learning practice, including the Creative Partners in Learning scheme and working alongside teachers to explore alternative marking schemes within the curriculum.
The company offer bespoke workshops to develop curriculum learning alongside more established projects which include:
Commotion- a science based performance and workshop project for Primary schools, exploring the Physical Processes curriculum
The Physical Fellowship- a project aimed at developing and showcasing performance skills in physical theatre and devising with secondary school aged young people
