Act On Info is a theatre company with the aim of promoting learning and development using the creative medium of drama.
We provide a range of innovative quality interactive drama workshops, assemblies and Play in a Day to develop educational, personal, social and creative development.
All of our drama work in schools has been developed in line with National Curriculum to raise awareness of specific issues and topics, create a safe forum for debate, and encourage an emotional connection to the work by making learning fun. It is really important to us that we provide your school the very best drama programme we can for your individual needs and budget.
We started in 1999 providing PSHE drama workshops for the Manchester Healthy Schools team, the NHS and Manchester Metropolitan Police. Since then we have expanded our workshops to cover all aspects of the national curriculum and now cover most areas of Britain and North Wales.
We deliver individual workshops or play in a day in schools, larger productions, school tours, longer term projects, bespoke productions and extended schools.
We provide drama workshops, assemblies and play in a day around:
• PSHE topics (Anti-bullying, Smoking Prevention, Healthy Eating, Respect, Friendship, Drug Awareness, Alcohol Awareness)
• History (Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greeks, Aztecs, Britain since the 1930’s, Romans, Tudors, Victorians, Vikings, WW2)
• Literacy (Fairy tales, Shakespeare, Traditional Stories, Stories From Other Cultures, Myths and Legends)
• Other topics include The Earth and Beyond, The Titanic, Recycling, The Environment, Saving Energy, The Rainforest, Pantomimes and Pirates!
“Every child regardless of SEN and all idiosyncrasies accessed the play. AMAZING! I loved the approach that every child could make a contribution (and) was encouraged to focus for the whole group. It was one of those memorable days that the children will always remember.” Romeo and Juliet Play in a Day, Year 5 teacher, Pipworth Primary, Sheffield.
“This is a superb method for the children to learn about the topic. They are learning through doing. The facilitator praised (the children) throughout and was constructive in informing them of how to improve their learning/performing. From observing the children at the end of the day, it was clear that they had learned the myth. They had also used some drama techniques and had had fun in the process. I would happily book this again. Superb.” Myths and Legends Drama Day, Yr 5 teacher, Parlaunt Primary School, Slough.
“I just wanted to let you know that we have had a superb experience today! The facilitator came along and led an Ancient Greece workshop for my year 5 class. By the end of the day they had clearly grown in confidence, this was a real team-building experience. The children and staff laughed non-stop. The workshop was educational with regards to the topic, but also in many other aspects such as PSHE, Speaking and Listening & Drama. I would recommend Act on Info to any school considering it and I will definitely use the company again.” Ancient Greek Drama Day, Yr 6 teacher, Pebsham Community Primary, Bexhill-on-Sea
“We would like to book you again this year to do (forum theatre) bullying workshops with our Y7. Students were incredibly positive about you and in our experience, they know best!!” PSHE coordinator, Rawlett Community College, Tamworth
